Fonden Sol og Strand is a commercial foundation that works to support humanitarian, social, and charitable purposes. The foundation supports projects and initiatives that make a positive difference for people and communities, as well as a broader circle of individuals – both locally and internationally. 

The foundation was established in 2019 by the founders of Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rentals, the couple Margit and Kjeld Andersen. With the establishment of the foundation, they realized a dream of both securing their life's work in Danish hands and supporting charitable purposes – thereby making a difference for others. 

Associations and organizations with a valid CVR numberand with a humanitarian, social, or charitable purpose can apply for support.  

The foundation does NOT support individuals or businesses. 

The foundation supportscharitable and beneficialprojects that create value for people and communities. This can include social initiatives, humanitarian projects, community-oriented activities, or initiatives that help people in vulnerable situations. 

• Individuals and personal purposes 

• Capital contributions to foundations and associations 

• Activities and events that have already taken place 

• Construction of buildings, renovation, and larger construction projects are generally not supported unless there are special circumstances and a clear connection to the foundation's purpose.

• Private companies that may benefit from a potential humanitarian effort as a result of the foundation's donation 

• Study trips 

• Research projects 

• Equipment for clubs (e.g., sportswear, riding horses, or similar) unless there is a clear purpose covered by the foundation's purpose paragraph 

• Projects with a deficient or unrealistic budget 

Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental forms the basis for the foundation's financial foundation. The majority of the company's profits go directly to Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit and Kjeld, allowing them to support projects with a charitable purpose. 

By renting or leasing a holiday home through Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental – or by being employed by the company – you actively contribute to the foundation's work. Applications are sent to the foundation via the digital application form on the website. Here, you describe the project's purpose, target group, and activities, as well as attach relevant information about the budget and organization.Apply here

An application should provide a clear picture of the project's idea, purpose, and significance. Please describe the project's activities, target group, and how many people are expected to benefit from the effort.It is an advantage if the application clearly describes what difference the project is expected to make for the target group.It is also important to explain the project's significanceand attach a budget andbriefly present the organization or association behind it.

The foundation accepts applications on an ongoing basis. Applications are processed in connection with the foundation's board meetings. See deadlines:Deadline for applications

The processing time may vary, but applicants will generally receive a response once the application has been processed at a board meeting, as stated on the foundation's website.  

The Fonden Sol og Strand distributes around in 2026 seven million kroner from two funds.. 
One fund supports with a maximum amount of 50,000 kroner.The other fund supports with an amount of at least 50,000 kroner. Read more here: The foundation's funds 
 
The board of the foundation has a grant framework of three million kroner in 2026, which is used for larger projects with charitable or public benefit purposes both domestically and internationally.

The foundation has the opportunity to support operational funds, but it depends on the specific project, and it will always be a matter of assessment in each individual case.

In many cases, the foundation can act as a co-financing partner together with other foundations or contributors.

If a project receives support from the foundation, the applicant will receive further information about the grant as well as any expectations for reporting and visibility.– in this context, it is a prerequisite that the recipient of the donation is prepared to participate in mentions that can be used in the press and on the foundation's communication channels.
