Money from Sol og Strand goes to the island's theater association
A donation of DKK 5,000 from the Sol og Strand and Sol og Strand Fund has enabled the Læsø Theater Association to invest in a professional microphone system. This guarantees good sound quality when the island's residents take to the stage for amateur performances, revues, or summer plays.
"It is essential that we have a good sound system with good microphones when there are 12 actors on stage, and we have now invested in that system," says Jess Jessen-Klixbüll, treasurer of the theater association.
The new facility was put into use when the square at Thorvald Hansen's Tower in Byrum provided the backdrop for the performance of "Folk og Røvere i Kardemomme Byrum" (People and Robbers in Cardamom Town) at the end of June.
Local residents were on stage, and our own director received help with staging the play from a semi-professional director who has a summer house on Læsø. We performed the play twice, and it was a huge success, he says.
The equipment is now part of a shared equipment bank, which also includes tents, a stage, tables, chairs, lighting equipment, etc. This equipment bank can be used by other associations on the island if they have events or activities to organize.
"This equipment bank saves us all a lot of money," says Jess Jessen-Klixbüll.
He states that it has not yet been decided whether the theater association will repeat the success with an outdoor performance at Thorvald Hansen's tower.
