The boards of both Sol og Strand and the Sol og Strand Foundation, Sol og Strand Margit and Kjeld, who own Sol og Strand, are now being strengthened with additional external members. 
 

Charitable foundation has awarded 25 million – 10 million more to come in 2026
The principal owner, the Sol og Strand Foundation Sol og Strand Margit and Kjeld, is a commercial foundation that uses the profits from Sol og Strand support charitable and public-benefit causes throughout Denmark. 

Since its establishment in 2019, the foundation has provided a total of 25 million in grants, and in 2026, a total of 10 million will be awarded to worthy causes, with funding expected to increase in the coming years.
 

Journalist Line Gertsen – New Member of the Board of the Sol og Strand Foundation
As part of the foundation’s ongoing development, renowned journalist Line Gertsen is now joining the board.  

Until 2026, Line Gertsen worked as an investigative correspondent at DR and as a host on TV-Avisen. Since January, she has been employed as an investigative journalist at Zetland. She is the recipient of the Thomas Gerstenberg Foundation’s grant for having, through her journalism over many years, improved legal protection for the most vulnerable members of society.

Jens Stadum, chairman of the foundation’s board, says: 

-This is due to Line’s many years of experience as a critical journalist—often with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable members of society—which can contribute to the foundation’s continued development. We are convinced that Line has the right values and her heart in the right place, and that she, together with the rest of the board, can contribute to the foundation’s work in making a difference for others.

Line Gertsen says: 

-I’ve known Sol og Strand I was a child, when my mother worked Sol og Strand. When Margit Andersen contacted me on behalf of the board to ask if I was interested in joining the board, the answer was easy. I am very much looking forward to this collaboration and to helping bring the founders’ dreams to life, and through Sol og Strand’s work, to contribute to helping those who need a little extra support.

Sol og Strand in operation since 1979, and in the fall of 2019, the founders Margit and Kjeld transferred majority ownership to the Sol og Strand Foundation Sol og Strand Margit and Kjeld Andersen to ensure the continued success of Sol og Strand. 

Sol og Strand specializes in arranging rentals of privately owned Danish vacation homes for Danish and international vacationers. The company is committed to ensuring high levels of satisfaction among vacationers, homeowners, and employees, and the business is performing well.
 

Prominent industry figures join the board of Sol og Strand 
To contribute to the continued development of the operating company, Pia Loft and Per Brogaard are now joining the board. At the same time, the company’s CEO, Per Dam, is stepping down from the board of the operating company. 

Jens Stadum, chairman of the board, says: 

-We are very pleased to welcome two new external members to the board, each of whom brings relevant industry experience to the table. Pia Loft has many years of experience in law, communications, and political affairs, and she previously served as director of the Danish Vacation Rental Association. Per Brogaard brings a broad range of commercial and international industry experience, and he has a strong understanding of strategic development. 

Pia Loft is an experienced leader in the fields of national and international advocacy, strategic communications, and legal consulting.  

Pia Loft says: 

“I am very excited to join the Sol og Strand board. I am already very familiar with the industry, including Sol og Strand. I know that Sol og Strand is committed to strong values and has long-term ambitions for continued growth,” says Pia Loft. 

Per Brogaard is an experienced strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience in senior roles responsible for companies’ overall commercial development. He has worked across industries in both Denmark and internationally and has extensive experience in strategy, growth, internationalization, and M&A. Today, he runs Strategi-Kompagniet, where he develops and implements strategies and serves as a CEO wingman and close sparring partner for owner-managers and executive boards. 

Per Brogaard says: 

-I have spent many years working in strategic and commercial development—including internationally—and I look forward to bringing that experience to bear in my work on the board. I am familiar with Sol og Strand the industry and have great respect for the way the company combines strong values with a clear business direction. I am looking forward to it.

CEO Per Dam: Stronger boards of directors strengthen the development of Sol og Strand 

The CEO of Sol og Strand is enthusiastic about the expansion of the boards, which he sees as a boost to the company’s future growth 

Per Dam says: 

-Thanks to strong collaboration within the boards and with everyone at Sol og Strand , we Sol og Strand achieved the market position we hold today. We are experiencing solid growth based on a strong focus on ensuring high satisfaction among homeowners, vacationers, and employees, all while continuing to develop our business. We are in a strong position at Sol og Strand , and we intend to build on this further in the coming years, says CEO Per Dam.
