Fonden Sol og Strand, owned by Margit and Kjeld, who run Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rentals, supports the festival with 15,000 kroner, which pleases Birgitte Wormsborg from Kulturhavn Gilleleje's Friends.

– We are very grateful for the donation – without financial support, it would not be possible to hold the event with an entrance fee of 60 kroner, which is at a level where most families can participate, she says.

Kulturhavn Gilleleje, Gilleleje Library, Kulturhavn Gilleleje's Friends, and Gribskov Cultural School are behind the festival, which in previous years has been a popular event for children and adults.

– The festival should get the children away from the screen and create good experiences for the residents in the area for the tourists in the municipality, says Birgitte Wormsborg.

– Our expectation is that this year there will be 600 paying participants, which is our maximum number. Last year, unfortunately, we had to say no to some who had not secured a ticket.

In previous years, the festival has consisted of small and large concerts. This year, the organizers have chosen to scale back the concert activities. Instead, several creative workshops have been arranged to meet the children's wishes.

– Last year we found that the children became very absorbed in the creative activities and were actually hard to pull over to the main stage where the concerts took place. Therefore, this year's festival consists almost exclusively of workshops, where we have drum, dance, circus, and theater workshops on stage, and a wide range of creative workshops off stage, says Birgitte Wormsborg, who hopes that the festival will help raise awareness of the many leisure opportunities available in the local area.

– Our goal is for the festival to help make children curious about the different forms of culture and thereby create culture enthusiasts in the long run.
