BAGSTOPPERNE
A donation from Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit og Kjeld will help give children from socially and economically challenged families in Rønne the chance to experience the joy of football – and the community surrounding the sport.
The initiative is backed by Bagstopperne, the support association for Rønne Sports Club (RIK), which aims to create a safe and inclusive community for children aged 3–6 years with the project 'Together in Football and Fun'.
– We want to make it possible for all children to be part of the football community – regardless of economic background, says Søren Kofoed, who is the chairman of the support association Bagstopperne.

After training, there is a communal meal at the club.
The project offers free football training and play for the children – as well as communal meals after training, where families can meet, eat together, and form networks. The goal is to give children and parents the opportunity to become part of a local community without economic barriers.
– In the autumn, we went out to visit the kindergartens near the football club to tell them about the project. The first time we had about 14 children at training – and afterwards, 55 people participated in the communal meal, which is for both the children, their siblings, and parents, says Søren Kofoed, who emphasizes that the initiative is about much more than football.
– It's not just about the ball, but about creating togetherness and new friendships – and giving more people the opportunity to be part of community life.
Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit og Kjeld has supported the project with 19,250 kroner. Additionally, Bornholm's Regional Municipality has supported the initiative through the effort 'The Small Children's Bornholm'.

The project aims to encourage more people to become part of the community life in Rønne Sports Club.
After the project's conclusion, the experiences will be evaluated, and it will then be decided whether the initiative will be made permanent in Rønne Sports Club.
– The goal is to run it for the next year and then evaluate. My hope is that we continue and can not only offer free membership but also secure funding for purchasing player kits, as it can be a challenge for some families to buy, says Søren Kofoed.
