Early Christmas gift: Fund distributes 2.5 million kroner
Holiday guests, summer homeowners, and employees at Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rentals have contributed to the fact that the North Jutland fund can once again distribute funds for charitable purposes.

Holiday guests, homeowners, and employees at Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental have once again contributed to the fact that “Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit and Kjeld” can distribute nearly 2.5 million kroner to charitable causes across the country in December.
Earlier this year, the foundation supported a number of smaller projects with a total of one million kroner. Thus, by the end of the year, around 3.5 million kroner will have been distributed in total.
– We place great emphasis on supporting projects that create value for people and local communities. Among an incredibly large number of qualified applicants, we have selected 17 associations and organizations that each in their own way make a difference for others, says the chairman of the foundation's board, Jens Stadum.
This is the fifth consecutive year that the foundation, which owns Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental A/S, distributes funds. And it is the largest donation in the foundation's history to date. Last year, around three million kroner were distributed in total, and this year it has been possible to increase the amount, which is due to a positive development in Sol og Strand itself.
– When you rent out your house through Sol og Strand, vacation in a Sol og Strand holiday home, or work in the company, you are indirectly helping to support charitable and local causes. This is something that makes us unique in the industry, says Jens Stadum.
The vision lives on
In 2019, the couple Margit and Kjeld Andersen transferred ownership of Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental A/S to a foundation. Their vision was to future-proof the business they founded 45 years ago and to give back to society through charity. Kjeld Andersen passed away in October, but Margit Andersen is pleased that their shared dream lives on through the foundation.
– It has been both Kjeld's and my dream to be able to give something back. It warms my heart to see how the funds help projects across the country, says Margit Andersen.
In connection with the distribution, holiday guests, homeowners, and employees have had the opportunity to provide input on which target groups the foundation should prioritize. This helps to create strong engagement throughout the community around Sol og Strand.

Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental A/S services and rents out approximately 7,000 Danish holiday homes, making it one of the largest Danish rental agencies.
