'Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit og Kjeld', which owns Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning A/S, has just announced a total of 20 recipients who can look forward to support from a fund aimed at projects over 10,000 kroner. The amounts for the 20 recipients range from 25,000 to 250,000 kroner.

This is the first time since the foundation was established four years ago that it is possible to distribute such a large amount at once, and this pleases the chairman of the foundation's board, lawyer Jens Stadum.

– This reflects a positive development in Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning A/S, and it is very gratifying that it is possible to support as many as 20 projects, says Jens Stadum, pointing out that it is quite unique in the holiday home industry for such a large amount from a company's profit to go to charitable purposes.

– When you rent out your house through Sol og Strand, vacation in a Sol og Strand holiday home, or are employed by the company, you are indirectly helping to support charitable and local purposes, and this is quite unique for the industry, he says, adding that it is a great motivating factor that the foundation has the opportunity to support organizations that make a significant difference for other people.

 The couple's dream has come true

The couple Margit and Kjeld Andersen founded Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning A/S in 1979, and in 2019 they transferred ownership to a foundation.

– With this foundation, we have both secured a future for Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning, which we have always referred to as our 'third child', in Danish hands, and we have realized our dream of contributing to making a difference for others, says Kjeld Andersen.

For the couple, it is always associated with great joy when the foundation has the opportunity to distribute money to associations and organizations across the country.

– It is incredibly rewarding that we can help make a difference for those who need help or support a project in a local community, says Margit Andersen.

Input from holiday guests and homeowners

Sol og Strand Feriehusudlejning A/S services and rents out around 6,500 Danish holiday homes and is thus one of the largest Danish rental agencies.

In connection with the distribution of foundation funds, Danish and foreign holiday guests, the owners of the many holiday homes, and the company's employees have had the opportunity to express their opinions on which target groups the foundation should support.
