Money from the Sol og Strand fund goes to the island's theater association
A donation of 5,000 kroner from “Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit og Kjeld” has contributed to Læsø Teaterforening being able to invest in a professional microphone system. This ensures good sound when the island's citizens take to the stage for amateur performances, revues, or summer plays.
– It is crucial that we have a good speaker system with quality microphones when we have 12 actors on stage, and we have now invested in that system, says Jess Jessen-Klixbüll, who is the treasurer of the theater association.
The new system was put to use when the area by Thorvald Hansens Tårn in Byrum served as the backdrop for the performance “Folk og Røvere i Kardemomme Byrum” at the end of June.
– Local citizens were on stage, and our own director received assistance with the setup of the play from a semi-professional director who has a summer house on Læsø. We performed the play twice, and it was a great success, he says.
The system is now part of a shared equipment bank, which also includes tents, a stage, tables, chairs, lighting equipment, etc. This equipment bank can be used by other associations on the island if they have events or activities to carry out.
– This equipment bank saves us all a lot of expenses, says Jess Jessen-Klixbüll.
He states that it has not yet been decided whether the theater association will repeat the success with an outdoor performance at Thorvald Hansens Tårn.
