50,000 kroner for a Christmas party for vulnerable and disadvantaged families
1,000 gathered for a Christmas party with bingo, Christmas treats, and ice hockey.
They say that Christmas is the festival of hearts, and there was plenty of warmth, joy, and community when Aalborg Pirates, Cool East, Aalborg Ice Hockey Club, and Skalborg Sports Club recently invited everyone to the Christmas event "Everyone has the right to a good Christmas."

A Christmas bingo game was also held in connection with the event.
Nearly 1,000 children and adults, who are in the target group for Christmas assistance, participated, and it became an unforgettable evening, says the managing director of Aalborg Pirates, Peter Lauritsen.
– For many, it was a completely unique opportunity to take a breather and have an experience they otherwise wouldn't have had. We have received a lot of positive feedback from the participants, he says.

These were vulnerable and disadvantaged families and individuals who had a day filled with community and experiences at Gigantium in Aalborg. The guests were served delicious Christmas food, played bingo, and could watch a top match between Aalborg Pirates and Odense Bull Dogs.
– It is something very special to see families leave the party with great bingo prizes under their arms. It spreads joy – not just in December but well into the new year, says Peter Lauritsen, adding that the event also helps to create relationships that extend beyond the day itself.

The mayor of Aalborg Municipality, Lasse Frimand Jensen, welcomed everyone, while Johnny Hefty was the bingo caller.
This is the third year in a row that the four associations are holding the event, which Fonden Sol og Strand, supported by Margit og Kjeld, has funded with 50,000 kroner.
– For many, Christmas is a time of joy and traditions. For others, worries follow – especially when finances are tight. Therefore, I am pleased that the foundation has the opportunity to support a project like "Everyone has the right to a good Christmas," says Margit Andersen, who, along with her now-deceased husband, founded the foundation in 2019.

Traditional Christmas food was lined up for the event.
