The funds are earmarked for museum visits for children and young people placed outside their homes, as well as citizens with developmental disabilities or brain injuries.

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition on their own terms and hear about Bit Vejle's world-famous paper cuts. After that, various activities will be arranged depending on the target group, and guests will be treated in the museum's café.

– This is a donation that has an invaluable significance for our ability to provide several thousand people in Northern Jutland with a tailored museum experience. The Museum of Paper Art has a vision of creating experiences with room for everyone, and with the funds from the Sol og Strand Foundation, we can make a difference for many people, says Bit Vejle, founder of the Public Benefit Foundation for Psaligraphic Art, which owns and operates the northern Jutland museum.

Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit and Kjeld will distribute around 2.5 million kroner in December and support a total of 17 associations and organizations across the country. The donation to the Museum of Paper Art is the largest single donation in the foundation's five-year history.

– This is a project that many people will benefit from. We know that museum visits are not a given for this group, and therefore we are incredibly happy that Fonden Sol og Strand by Margit and Kjeld can help create a unique experience tailored to their needs, says the chair of the foundation's board, Jens Stadum.

In 2019, the couple Margit and Kjeld Andersen transferred ownership of Sol og Strand Holiday Home Rental A/S to a foundation. Their vision was to future-proof the business they founded 45 years ago and to give back to society through charity. Kjeld Andersen passed away in October, but Margit Andersen is pleased that their shared dream lives on through the foundation.

– It has been both Kjeld's and my dream to give something back. In this case, by hopefully creating a memorable day and giving them all an experience they otherwise would not have had, she says.
